Head for the hills!!!
Hello everyone!
It has been a long time since I was able to update this thing. I have been going through a bit of renovation in my professional & personal life. Nothing I can say was a misfortune. I am blessed with a wonderful wife and chubby little son and things are going great.
I started the new year with a bit of questions for my professional life and my company. I did not expect what was about to be thrown at me. Lets actually start back in November.
After doing much research and trying to gather all things for the new year and what I was about to create my goals for I decided that freelance was going to have to be the winning hit for me. So my partner and I decided to seek more clients that had a different feel to them, more of the edgy and a little more on the high end side. Christmas came around and I had job offers left and right stretching from as far west as Santa Monica and as far east as Boston. These job opportunities came at a great time because I truly needed something a bit more secure with work flow to help carry Vice Alliance and Chrowm Designs to another level. I decided to seek work for a company based out of the east coast. Unfortunately I had come through some issues with my son and had to take the leave to better him and his health. May I add that this was just in January also, so 2008 started good but a little rocky.
I decided to do some more freelancing and try to keep Vice Alliance and Chrowm Designs on a level that helped try to build its strengths higher and higher. These jobs kept coming in, left and right almost leaving my partner and I at a complete chaos state of mind. We carried a few big names on our shoulders and proceeded to reach for more work and clients in that category.
I wake up to find myself receiving an email from a Jeff Hyman with an agency based out of San Fransisco California. He requested some more info about myself and wanted to know if I was available for freelance. I spoke with him for some time and realized something that had never really come to me ever in my career as a Graphic Designer. The conversation was great, our minds had the same track and humor and it worked out better than I could have ever expected. We decided to work on some projects together and proceeded to converse and fine tune this work relationship.
After a few jobs under the belt with COG1 We decided to seek something more secure and honestly the best decision I have ever made when joining a team at an agency. they signed me up as full time, working remote and teaming me up with some of the best designers, interactive designers and project team. I had finally found the people who not only honored me as the person I was, but also for the work I do. Without a doubt these people have given me the goal I was reaching for. I guess dealing with horrid clients, inconsiderate and false hope bosses that I finally found my niche in an agency of greatful, young, crazy as hell and top of the kitty litter people.
Go take some time and visit COG1 and peep out some of the great added. This team is going to change how we interact, were going to give people back the laugh, give people back the art, give people back entertainment!
